The waiting game...

I guess it takes an act of faith to start something like this. I have to believe that people are out there in need of help. So, to stop this blog from becoming stagnant here goes nothing.

Continuing on the subject of faith and computing I would like to address the subject of viruses, malware, spyware, whatever you call them it's a scourge of the interwebz. As of late my own computer faith has been tested in the form of handy clean-up utilities that typically resolve most of these sorts of problems.

Once your favorite removal software(s) of choice, is installed and updated, it's a click and watch sort of procedure. Now most of the time between a few of these utilities you can resolve the issue within a few min to a few hours. It's easy to get lazy and just depend on them to do their job. But, I have been reminded lately that I cannot place so much faith in these programs. After literally dozens of effective clean-ups using these sorts of utlities I had one come back on me today.

So I spent some time looking for the usual locations in the registry and folder tree to see what I could see. I found several things of suspect. Assuming that maybe an updated definition version of my favorite scanner(s) would resolve the issue. Waited for them to complete they found nothing. Yet the abnormal behavior was still occurring... I then went back to those files, folders, and registry entries and removed them manually. This took me maybe 15min to address. The symptoms of an infection where now gone!

Lesson learned; I should place faith in myself first, before relying on something or someone else.

Need Tech Karma?

We all know these people and maybe you are one of them, when you lay hands on an electronic device that was just fully functional now suddenly in your hands it isn't. Or maybe you are lucky and it's vice versa for you.

I happen to fall into the show-up, talk about with, or email regarding said broken device and voila it's working. This sudden positive resolution to broken technology occurs with such regularity I find it odd and amazing. Thus maybe mystical powers are at work here? Maybe it's karma? How does this happen so frequently? Why does it happen? These are questions that probe the meaning of life it self.

Either way I offer up my services for free. Post-up your problem. I will then practice Computer Faith Healing and if your issue is resolved by this simple act let me know. I guarantee nothing more then the the attempt of using faith to resolve your tech issue(s). I look forward to seeing how this experiment works out. I want you to contribute to content.

Feel free to donate. Do so if Computer Faith Healing resolves your issue. Do so because you enjoy reading what is posted here. Do so because maybe it will help stave off the next issue. Do so just because.

So let's hear what you got.
